しまじろう だいすき!

4 Nov

I LOVE Shimajiro! And I am in love with this new website I just discovered, shimajiro.co.jp.I’ll have to spend some time looking around, but here’s what has popped out at me so far…

There are colorful, printable, free hiragana practice pages.

More cute printable hiragana charts!! Yeah!

Click over to the Benesse blog and there’s even more fun stuff.

I used to think all the “Kodomo Challenge” stuff was off-limits to me since I don’t have a subscription, so I am ecstatic to find that there are some resources available to me as well online.

P.S. This first week of focusing on teaching my daughter words that begin with あ has been a success!!  I have been MUCH better at speaking to her in Japanese, and she is responding by speaking more Japanese to me. I am finding that one week per kana might not be enough… there are so many words, songs, and activities!! But since there are 46+ hiragana characters, I guess I will move on to い next week, for now…

P.S.S. Are you all finding  this site useful? Let me know🙂
